The geography around Puerto Plata resembles Jamaica with the lush green mountains as a backdrop to white sand beaches. Puerto Plata is known for its great beaches, and is growing as a wedding and honeymoon destination.

Here it isn't even close as the Iberostar Costa Dorada is by far the highest rated all inclusive resort in Puerto Plata by a wide margin. This should come as no surprise as Iberostar is the world leader in building and operating the best all inclusive resorts in the world. In fact their Grand Hotel Paraiso was recently rated the best all inclusive resort in the world.
I have ranked all of the Iberostar resorts and my findings showed that for the price and quality, the Iberostar Costa Dorada is probably one of the best values of the Iberostar Caribbean resorts, and possibly the best value in the entire Dominican Republic.
